I thought fuel pumps could pull as well as push - especially expensive aftermarket ones?

I talked to a friend of mine who is running a 1000hp c5 vette with a blown 408ci and he is using an In tank 255 lph pump and a external bosch 420lph pump and he said that even with his high hp he could still run much richer than his current 12:1 without stressing them keep in mind he drives this or his viper everyday but he drives the vette more so I know its streetable. I just can't find anywhere to get the external pump supposidly jegs has it but I can't find it. also I wouldn't know where to put the damn thing on an rx7 and still keep it cool for long... https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683358.gif any ideas where to put this pump or know where the hell I can find this thing?!

Mount the pump outside the car and make sure the pickup is plenty big to feed the pump and it should not be too loud.



Aeromotive makes a good pump like the poster above said. It should do the job for you.

i was running an Aeromotive A1000 external pump mounted under the car on the back of the rear subframe.... it sounds like a ****** woodchipper when you turn it on. VERY VERY VERY Loud. Not something i'd put on a streetcar again. The large pumps like that need a controller also... they tend to overheat if ran at full voltage all the time. Aeromotive sells the controller also.

How big was your pickup in the tank?



I am getting ready to use an AN-6 line.



My friend made the mistake of using stock fuel lines and they are just too small, once he went to AN-6 his pump quieted right down.

i was running -8 lines from the tank to the engine with a -6 return.

go with the aeromotive a1000, just make sure you mount it with rubber, otherwise, it is very loud... Most people dont really have too much problem with it if its mounted correctly... But... as with any external pump, you are gonna hear it...

oh yeah, also... DO NOT mount the pump in the car!!!!

I have the a1000, which i mounted to a plate welded to the rear subframe. I wanted to keep the pump in a low position to facilitate pickup. It is a good idea to sump your fuel tank as well.



It is LOUD (mine is hardmounted as well...)
