seems like a lot of people like the HKS........ and since its cheap, ill go with you guys on this
|
The reason the HKS is so much cheaper is due to the fact it is MS,
The shape of the HKS near the turbo is flatter/thinner due to the fact that it has to be that way to fit on the right hand drive J-Spec cars - you've got the steering column and all sorts of other stuff on the RHD models. I agree that the HKS unit is easier to install, however, the M2 is not that much harder to get on there. I've installed both models and did not see that much difference difficulty wise when putting them on. If you plan on staying with the twins for a while I would recommend spending the xtra $ and getting the M2 or any other reputable SS DP. If you plan on going single anytime soon then just save the $ and get the cheaper HKS model. BTW. The US full 3" DP's do flow better than the J-Spec one's. I remember reading about a back-to-back comparison between an HKS and M2 or Pettit a couple of years back when the HKS started becoming available for cheap stateside. Allbeit a very minor difference. 1. doesn't fit well, the rear angle is off by 10% 2. the entry flange is thin 3. the ID of the entry flage is very very small 4. the studs don't line up perfectly, just slightly off how do i know? I used to import them, and sell them... They are made in Taiwan. |

the no name is not really a no name pipe. it is made by topspeed, and is great!
my friend brian and i took our pipes off to replace them with the topspeed DP. teh flow BETTER than the hs one, as the head end of the HKS pips is very cluttered and cramped and barely 2" in height on the inside....... the topspeed pipe is mirror finish and bolts up fine i run the entire topspeed system on my car......no complaints.....but hten again, we are all partial aren't we.... here is a pic, and i guarantee the price is better.....just tell me what you are gonna pay for the HKS one..... thanks LAracer for the support. hey onboost. order one of my DP's and see for yourself. don't knock what you do not know about https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683664.gif .... louis |

or PM me here, we are the same shop....

I have seen them before, and I know the factory that makes those pipes.
My price on them are very cheap. But I rather go with the HKS ones. They do look nice. Very shiny. |
APEXi intake for FD is good stuff. Filters well, nice installation, good braces for supporting the filters.
The filters also have good velocity stack built in at the back, its good design. |
I use an ATR 3". Great pipe not to bad to install
