I've been searching around for prices and like amazingly the HKS down seems to be the cheapest.. is there any difference between all the other downpipes like pettit and M2 and stuff. It seems to me that those just seem to be prettier... hmm and to boot which intake would u guys recommend?

FikseRxSeven 03-19-2003 10:27 PM

where did you find this price, cuz there was a no name downpipe in the forum that people were satisfied with...... i think its in the 3rd gen section

the hks fits the best too, the only "problem" is that the turbo side looks like the stock precat.

Yeah... I've heard the HKS and Greddy downpipe fit really well. But that's because, as was stated above, the end that attaches to the turbo outlet has the same shape as the stock precat. This is good for easy fitment. Bad for flow and power.

I used the SR Motorsports downpipe. It fits perfectly. However you do have to remove the stock studs that fasten your turbo to the precat and replace them with bolts (provided). This can be a bit tricky.

I was lucky that all my studs came out easily.

I've heard that M2 has a nice downpipe that allows you to use the stock studs.

Of course I think the HKS and Greddy downpipe are also not stainless steel. Which may be a consideration also.

They are all about the same.

One may take longer to put on than another, but it is only a piece of pipe.

I use a pettit one and it is fine except for the bolt under the bend which can

be a little tricky if you are trying to remove the pipe while the engine is still in the car.

Hks DP = mild steel

M2DP = stainless steel (MUCH BETTER) https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/boink.gif

rx7machine 03-20-2003 08:07 AM

I think I'm going to get a M2 dp.

FikseRxSeven 03-20-2003 12:15 PM

i think im gunna go with hwatever the cheapest stainless steel dp out there...... no money for now though

onboost 03-20-2003 12:23 PM

HKS = mild steel, but:

1. is coated, so won't rust

2. price is the best (even better if you ask me for a discount https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR )

3. fits the best (very important, since very little room is allowed in installation)

4. flows great

5. its HKS! (the name!)

FikseRxSeven 03-20-2003 04:22 PM

onboost, how much can i get that downpipe from you?
