my stoopid question for the day....



when you add on an aftermarket FPR, as in the one per above, it comes with the -6 or -10 lines, and the fittings are seperate...so do i have to run a larger line anywhere, or is it adaptable for my purposes. i just know i do not NEED to delve into the running of new lines yet, because i am not near the limit of the factory feed and return lines. i have been told that they support up to ~500hp...

Ok here is how I did my setup. This applies if you get an aftermarket secondary rail, and use a FPR with -6 an fittings.

If you get a FPR with -6 an fittings you don't need to run new fuel lines in the whole car.



From the stock line to the primary injectors stays the same

From the primary injectors to the new secondary rail stay the same

Out of the secondary rail you buy a -6 an fitting(45,90,180 degrees depending on where you mount the FPR) Now you run a piece of braided line from the fitting to the FPR(again you need the correct angle fitting)

Next out of the FPR another -6 AN fitting with braided line. this line goes to where the stock return line hooks up, for this connection you can use a hose clamp.

You see if you use -6 an fittings and hose, it's the same diameter as the stock hose. If you want to run -8, or -10 an fittings and line, you will have to re-do the entire fuel system

 

I'm going to do a How-to on making your own braided lines/fittings. It is the most PIA thing I've done yet.

I think it wil be useful to many people. since dave is putting together a nice how-to section on his site, I think I'll donate mine to him

 

thanx turbosix......i think that the most PITA thing that i have done on my car, or am doing is the polishing of the alternator casing.....SUX.....
