It couldn't have happened at a worse time...

I was lucky enough to run into the local Viper club tonight and was cruising with them (about 7 Vipers.. one with a Roe Supercharger.. 800hp i think) and toying around..

Well my temps started to rise, so i thought it was just from boosting soo much and stuff, we all pulled into a Shell station and my coolant buzzer went off.. i was losing coolant out of my lower hose, it got loose somehow..

The Fans were on, but blowing very very slow.. like they were dying..

Then i shut the car off and left the AC power on so the fans would run...Well the fans weren't on.. so i checked the fuse, connections, and such.. and no go.. they still didn't run. Everything checked out ok, so i guess they are dead?

Anyone have any ideas? I checked the obvious.. maybe 11 years of service finally killed them. Anyone know of any aftermarket ones worth getting?

Thanks in advance..

there are 4 relays for the coolong fans, I suggest you download the shop manual, and start your diagnosis there

After the last typhoon that we had, I had 2 of the 4 relays die...which caused the fans to come on really, slow....even with the AC on.

If you need the relay bank send me a PM. I took mine off, so now my fans only come on high speed. Don't know if that was a good idea or not, they take 16 amps EACH on high speed.

so did you totally bypass the relays, and have them on all the time?

Chop, chop!

I removed them and used a single 40 amp relay. I didn't want to tie up a bunch of outputs on the Haltech.

I would imagine. Pour over the stock wiring diagrams. There are a lot of different conditions to cause the different speeds. You would now have 3 outputs that don't do anything.
