hi all,

Picked up the RX7 and its a lovely car, drives so well and handles even better.

I had the compression test done and the results were as below:

6.4 6.5 6.3 @ 250 rpm

The car has done 62,000 miles and is a 1995, the garage said it was normal but i'm not sure.

Any help would be gr8!!! A pic of the also below.

Cheers All

hm.... 6.5-6.3 is kinda low... is this hot or cold compression?

it should run fine, since there is not big difference between the chamber.

It would have been warm, it runs fine but i just wonder how much life is left in it. Is 6 really the maximum before a rebuild?

Cheers

that silver color is beautiful. I think 7 is the lowest in the factory manual for an fc, so it can't be much different for an fd. Just drive it and if it breaks, fix it. Until then, just drive that car, it's awesome!

good looking car. the compression numbers look low to me. they should, according to my conversions, be closer to 8 or 9....but i could be wrong.....are you getting decent idle vacuum, and are there any evident problems that you know of?

keep it right...you got yourself a cherry of a car......hell there were only 500 of those brought to the states, right?

Thanks for the reply's guy, I'm in England unfortunately and would you believe this cost me around $10,000 including all tax's and a recent £500 service ( $900 ). I import them for a living and i didn't want it to break too soon on the guy thats buying it.

Cheers All
