I just got done with swaping out the auto in my car about 3 hours ago and well I'm worried about the tranny. The clutch is a SPEC stage 4 6 puck clutch. I used 80-90w non synthetic oil and there is a lot of chatter from the clutch which is expected. However the shifting is EXTREMELY notchy and getting into first is a chore sometimes. I checked to make sure the clutch was disengaging through the hole on the bottom of the tranny. The clutch pedal is very soft when compared to my old eclipse or an camaro ss. No air in the lines from what I can tell just very soft. And again the clutch does disengage. The tranny did sit for a while without oil in it. let me know what you guys think. Oh and sorry about the noob questions but the search doesnt work anymore.

I think you need to continue bleeding the clutch, and check to see if the clutch fork isn't partially broken. It sounds like it's not fully disengaging. The pedal effort should be firm.

80-90 oil is the right viscosity, and letting the tranny sit dry is perfectly fine.

Im having a similar problem, i jus put my manual trann in, have a 4 puck clutch in it, my mechanic didnt put enough tranny fluid in it, so i took it to pep boys to have them fill er up, before it was shifting pretty smoothe, not perfect, had a lil noise from the clutch, first was hard to engage a lil, fifth grinded like chit which i knew, need a new fifth, after they put in the new fluid now fourth is churpin just a weeeeee bit like 1 out of ever 4 shifts, i just ordered some redline 75 90, should this eliminate my fourth gear problem, i dont know how many miles on the tranny, ask rfreeman27 i bought it from him, i forget what he told me =). like i said shifted much better before with less fluid, but could they have pu the wrong **** in and messed it up a lil, they told me only a few drops came out when they drained it, which isnt good, but he told me is was only one quart or so, to go straigh to the shop. thanks
