i havent been to the dyno yet....becuase i am waiting for my boost controller to come in, and most importantly i dont have a clutch!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i smoke the tires and clutch in first through third. i bet one night at a track or races and it would be toast. i will go after i get my wideband o2 system and the clutch. i am hoping to make 400rwhp@15psi i am only running 13psi no and that car is scarry https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/boink.gif hahaha but everybody bows down to my car now muhahahahhahahahaha https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683894.gif

This one of the better reasons to get the OS Giken clutch...the pull to push hardware that they give you.



The OS Giken is truly streetable. You will NOT have problems with the clutch once it is broken in. For the first week you have it installed, do NOT RAIL ON YOUR CAR. You will need to break in the plates. They need to heat up and contract several times so that they can fit properly. You'll know when it's ready....it'll be SO much easier to drive.



When I first put my rebuilt clutch in, it was like an on/off switch. It was REALLY hard to drive in my neighborhood because of all the hills and I stalled out several times. Once the plates warp to each other, it's as if you have a stock clutch again.



If your buying it new, when the disks wear out, you can purchase two disks for appx. $430. When you pull the plates out, inspect them by placing the front plate on the back one. Look between the plates and be sure that there's no gap between them. Turn the front plate over and place it on top of the rear plate and inspect that as well. This checks to see how much warpage has occured. If there's no gap one way, but a lot of gap the other way, then you'll need to get plates too. If this is the case, then you will probably need to buy the whole rebuild kit which is appx. $580.



They give you allenhead bolts with the rebuild kit. They WILL give you problems because they will strip out on the inside VERY EASILY. If you have one that simpily won't come out, take a 9mm socket and place it on the allen bolt head. Take a hammer and tap the socket onto the head of the bolt. Then use a ratchet to take the bolt off. You can avoid doing this by using needle nose vice grips and putting the allenhead into the bolt, then vice gripping the head down.

But what's nice about the twin setup is that you don't have to buy a whole new clutch when it's time to rebuild, you may just have to buy a 2 clutch disks...unlike the ACT which you will have to buy a whole clutch.

actually. the pressure plates don't go bad. if anything you kill a disk which is $150 for a six puck sprung from racing beat..................

I was basing my experience on one ACT extreme clutch I've seen here in Japan, so it's probably not throughly accurate.



Either way, the twin plate OS Giken pays for itself by being a push type clutch, streetability(about a thousand times easier to drive than the act extreme), torque rating, etc....
