I had to cut a clip to be able to extend it over to the driverside of the engine bay.
I tossed the clip and decided to solder the wires to the sensor, that it was previously attached too. The check engine light for it is going off. I double checked the connections. Everything should be working fine. Im starting to wonder if the CLIP needs to be attached to the sensor for some reason? anyone know? |
what was it for?

I'm curious if the heat from the soldering damaged the sensor internals. Otherwise, no - the clip only plays the role of holding the connectors securely. Maybe there is a procedure for checking the resistance of the sensor, seeing if it has failed.
