another questions:

in the pic below, the ugly orange reflector in the yellow circle...is this part availabe in red in the USA?

i'm not sure, because i know that US cars have red turning lights in the rear...but what about the front?

or are there any alternatives to the ugly orange part? (except removing, this is not allowed here by law )

amber is the only colour offered in that because Department of transportation only allows amber to be used. Some guys run clear ones, but they would have the same issue as you with the Polizei in Deutschland. If I were you, take a trip to the parts store and see if you can find the "night shade" brand spray to darken them down a little bit. It may still be illegal, but it does look better to police then straight clear ones.

i could never find any different colored part. that orange thing looks so out of place, makes the FD look like a bicycle

Indicator, side repeater. The clear ones with the orange bulbs are perfectly legal, they must be since plenty of german cars have them.
