ok guys i took a drive to san francisco on sat to visit my parants and to go to my brothers house to install my koni's... right before i get onto the 280.... my check engine light comes on... i pulled over to the parking lot and checked my oil.. it looks clean and good. i then check all the wiring and harnesses to make sure nothing was dislocated.... i start the car again and it goes away.. the car drove fine so i just made my 50 mile trip to sf.. now on sunday i'm out going to my friends kid's birthday party... my check engine light goes on again... this time i was at the gas station getting gas... i decided to put a bottle of octane booster just for the hell of it.... this time the light stayed on for 10 mins then want away again.... could this be my o2 sensor... oooo by the way, i put a bottle of fuel injection cleaner last week on my last tank of gas... any ideas????

16 is EGR. There is two things that ussually works. Buy a new EGR valve $200 or clean out all the sut from the old one for $0. GooD Luck

the EGR is above the turbos on the intake manifold. It'll have a vacuum tube attached to it and if you have a cali version it will have 2 wires connecting to it.

Tip: download the Service manual from www.fd3s.net the egr is under the fuel and emissions section.

Same thing happened to me last year. I blame California environmentalists and their pointless emission bs

Good luck with it

Like some have already said, the best and for sure way to test it is to get the code.
