how does everybody here disconnect/connect their wires at the coil? i can't get the old wire off the coil at the t1 location much less think how i'm gonna fit the new one in there...do you guys remove something? like the oil filler neck or uim (geez)?

thanks,

fritz

the easiest thing to do is take off the intake elbow. 4 nuts 10mm

thanks for the quick response turbovr6...yeah, i definitely took the elbow off but even getting one or two fingers on the plug to pull it, its back is right against the oil filler neck assembly so it doesn't wanna come completely off?? this is the tightest space?? i was able to do L1&2 and that was pretty tight but T1 is like totally surrounded and i have kinda small hands(oops, too much information). https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/wacko.png

Loosen the filler neck bolts. Do not take them completely out or you'll have one hell of a time getting them back in.

If you still can't get it, then take the throttle body off. It only takes a few minutes (the lower coolent hose is a PIA though).

Take off the upper intake manifold. Makes it soo much easier.

turbovr6 11-29-2003 05:01 PM

you guys like to work too much, if you take off the elbow you have enough room to change the wires

I took the oil filler neck off....I didnt have the patience. Its a bigger pain putting the new ones back on then taking it off!!

are you ******* nutz?

definetaly take off the upper intake manifold or at leas the throttle body.

Theres no way in hell I would put myself through the struggling of installing plug wires like that. It's hard enough even with the UIM off.
