Most of the ones I see appear to be sealed... You'd wan't a way to release pressure correct? Anybody have a good pic or schematic of how they should work?

Actually a lot of the ones I see, they have a cap, or someway to get the oil out.

I dont really see too much need on a rotary, but thats just my opinion.

They sure do look nice though

turbovr6 11-06-2003 05:57 PM

usually they have a drain at the bottom, maybe you can't see it in the pics you are looking at

9BASE3 11-06-2003 08:10 PM

Yeah... I know they can be emptied... But many of them look like pressure would build up in them... Is there a vent or something?

I've heard a million times that the PCV line running to the UIM will (Or can) cause smoke. (Which makes sense) I was going to vent it with a filter, but I figured a catch can could work too... But I want to make sure I'm not friggin building up crankcase pressure and causing leaks everywhere..

Please advise. 9BASE3 out.

What about something like this. It has a filter as well as a drain ****.http://www.jegs.com/cgi-bin/ncommerce3/Pro...463&prmenbr=361.

Use a catch can with a filter/breather on the top.

Chris Reagan has a write-up on his site on how to do just this.

I've actually got a picture of one in IGY's car(when he was bridgeported boosting 19 psi https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR ) He said it works...and nobody will know it's there because they'll be too busy looking at his tail lights https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683785.gif

Thank you very much. If I bought a generic one it wouldn't be NAME BRAND now would it? I didn't think so!

Seriously though, I have been using the pepsi bottle for a couple of years now and it works just fine.

Chris Regan's site is very, very nice. His, Max Cooper's and Rob Robinette's are all similar in terms of what they offer. The few times I have communicated with Chris, he seemed like a very cool guy.
