Car won't start after Long Rest
#1
Hey everyone. got a problem.
I know my engine isn't blown, because
before I parked her, She was running perfect,
no coolant lights, no leaks, ran great.
My FD3S been parked for about 2 months,
and haven't been touched.. The battery even
went dead. Anyways.
I been trying to jump her, and she won't start.
I am worried I might burn out my starter.
But after several failed attempts to jump start
I jumped out to look at the Exhaust. and there
was visible whitish color vapors like slowly floating
out the tail pipe. I am guessing its unburnt fuel.
1st qustion. " WILL Using STARTING FLUID help to
start her up??? and if so DO I spray it into the INtake??
OR any place else????
While messing with the jumper cables, I noticed a ODD
ticking/vibrating sound coming from under the hood.
I Traced the noise from co ming underneath the UIM
or Throttle body.. its like a ticking noise, Maybe like
someting trying to engage, or electrical short.
THE NOISE only happens when the Ignition is ON.
When its off, its stops.. BTW. this is with teh car
NOT running.. Just ignition on.
Anyone know what it could posssibly be????
Go fast parts.
Apex PFC w/ commander
DP, MP, CB
Greddy SMIC
HKS intake
Removed ASW *accelerated start warmup*
Not sure about DOUBLE THROTTLE. *** RYAN DBAR do i?? ***
Removed AIRPUMP
13.2 @ 106mph 1/4 with 2.4" 60ft
Anyinput or help would be great.. lataz..

I don't know if anyone else has ever had this experience, but I have. Instead of just jumping it, replace the dead battery (or put it on a charger and charge it up before trying to start). If you're jumping the dead battery, you might be getting enough amps to turn over the starter, but not enough voltage to make the electronics work properly. Some cars just won't run worth a fart unless they've got full voltage to the ECU and all that stuff.
Of course, now that you've tried unsuccessfully to start it, it definitely will need the unflooding procedure.
Good luck!

Thats where you would getthe ticking sound anyway
Also It may be a bit flooded, and you should follow voskos advice.

I know this is after the fact, but if you're gonna let her sit for an extended period of time. It's a good idea to A) pull the battery B) put battery on a trickle charger. Low voltage is a problem for all types of vehicles. Good luck, Tom

If youre not too sure about using the ATF trick(it doesnt hurt anything other than the plugs-sometimes), you might want to try the "mazda technicians" way as explained on the service manual: get a good battery and hold the gas pedal on the floor while cranking the engine(I got lazy about a month ago and it worked for me). you can also pull the EGI fuse and crank it regularly for 15 sec. put the fuse back in and it should start(might take 2 or 3 tries).
ah, what the hell....you probably got it started by now...
