hey everyone

do i need the second set of butterflys behind the throttle body? or will it hamper the cold start to much. i going single and running aftermarket ecu.

thanx

Aftermarket ECUs don't control them.

Get rid of them. You may need to drill out the screws, so do it carefully.

i have a power fc and if im goin to install it do i have to remove those?

TYSON 11-04-2003 11:00 PM

You don't have to. They default open. Someone posted it added 1 psi by removing them....

read this http://www.rx7turboturbo.com/robrobinette/...le_throttle.htm

that should show you what is involved and what you need to do

if you dont feel like you can do a good job of it many people just wire them open

but honestly its pretty easy

kid dynamite 11-05-2003 12:39 AM

wow thanx for the fast responses think i will just get rid of them most of the stock stuff is gone anyway why stop now LOL.

JT-Imports 11-05-2003 01:42 AM

Yeah remove them if the throttle is already out and get the throttle inlarged, but I wouldnt do it if your just bored, unless your REALLY BORED hehe

kid dynamite 11-05-2003 02:40 AM

ya that throttle is already out are you screwing with me or can you really get the thing bored out more? sorry i'm still a dumb newbie in many aspects of the rotary motor but learning slowly the wheels turn although slow they still turn LOL. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png

JT-Imports 11-05-2003 05:36 AM

OH YES you can.

I dont mess around when it comes to cars hehe

Anyway, here is some info if you want us to do it, or you can have a QUALIFIED GOOD machinist do it in your area, and also get new butterflys made. Kind of a pain, its really easier to have us do it, but it requires more down time.

If this is a little out of your price range, but CLOSE we can have the same machine shop that did mine, do yours.
