Bought A Rx7 Sp

Thought I would bump this. I remember this thread thinking that a car with this much power is crazy. I guess this is a lesson to the people who are only looking for speed and don't think about the other aspects. It's sad that a person had to lose a life in order to set an example. It really has made me start thinking about all the plans I had for my car. It's just sad. I didn't know the guy but I still feel like I lost a friend.

Ok... I did some research on the forum and figured it out.
When I heard in the previous post that he died in his RX7 SP I assumed it was doing something stupid like street racing or driving like a maniac on country roads (Like I sometimes do).
I was suprised to hear that the accident was on an official drag strip and cause by mechanical failure. Even though his car had a ton of horsepower I don't think we can blame his death just on that. Fatal drag strip accidents are rather unusual and I think he just got really unlucky.
Of course if he kept his engine stock it might not have blown and he wouldnt' have crashed...
... but it he never drove cars and sat inside on the computer all day he would have been ok too. So I don't blame this on souping up your car too much. Just bad luck.
