just got in my autometer boost gauge and pillar mount...WTF are you supposed to do with this!? anyone ever set one of these up before? the fitting on the back of the gauge and all the associated hardware do not look like something that will easily slip onto the nipple on the UIM.....wtf is all this hardware??

Heres what I did

I have the 2 1/16 sport comp Boost gauge from autometer.

Remove the a-pillar from the car. Dont be afraid to pull on it as it is held in with clips but dont break it. Mark on the A-pillar where you want to mount the pod. Once you have the gauge all seated in there and ready for wiring and hosing you can mount it back into the column. I ran my pos. wire to the radio that way it comes on whenever the ignition is turned on. With the vacuum line they give you (hard plastic) run it through the steering column boot. I used a clothes hanger for this. To connect the plastic line to the UIM use a couple feet of vacuum hose. 7/32 or 3.5 mm will work fine. The hose will fit snugly over both the plastic line and the UIM nipple. You might also want to zip tie them to make sure they dont come off under hard boost One last thing: it makes it easier to work with the plastic line if you use a hair dryer and warm it up a bit. This will bring back the "straightness" of the line. Hope this helps!
