okay guys I want a group opinion on this. I'm intersted in doing a few body modifications as I have pretty much done all I can think of to do to my car motor wise and not go buy a 20b. I was looking at switching over to the 99-02 spec body or the veilside fortune kit. the 99-02 idea would keep true to the rx7 but it seems like so many people are doing it and the veilside kit is so damn hott. any CONSTRUCTIVE criticism is greatly appreciated

it's all up to what YOU want. Personally, i think that everything that veilside has ever made looks like ****. There are other kits out there other than the 99 spec that retains the stockish lines and aren't very over the top. If you have time to wait and money to burn... look into the KS KD1 Burnout kit. It's an awesome kit, i recently got the front fenders and rear flares from that kit for my car.

but in the end..... it doesn't matter who likes it as long as YOU do.

^Ditto.

One other thing to consider is the value of your car. I talk to guys who spend alot on body kits and mistakenly believe their car is worth that much more. While there might occasionally be exceptions, in reality, IMHO, kits (especially stuff like veilside) generally decrease the value of a car. People's tastes are very polarized....one of those love it or hate it issues. As long as you understand this, and have thick skin, I agree with Grey, it's your car.

It is your car, do what you like and the hell with what everyone else thinks. All that matters is that you like it.

I agree about it being your car and your choice. However, my favorite kits are the 99 Spec, Feed, and of course the Burnout. Man that Veilside is like $11K....I'd hate to have a wreck in a stock body FD but in that thing I would be nervous everytime I saw a bug hit the windshield.

A lot of people are doing the 99 kist is because its subtle, looks very nice and its OEM, so it fits. I'm ging to have to agree with everyone else, it is your car so do what you want. My opinion is to make less obvious, more functional changes, things that are not noticable from 100 yards away in oncoming traffic. I also hate wings

i personally like the subtle look. for me an outrageous kit would get old really fast as the styles change.. (kinda like clothing).

something subtle will retain the timeless styling of the FD

If you have the money, get the fotune kit and also get the 20B conversion.. If you could affort $11k body kit, what is another 15-20K? And do the conversion right. I saw the 3f3f's veilside FD and it was put together like ***.

here are some pics i took..

My FD is in the background.. lol!
