For the Aspec FD's you only need 3 BOP....AWS, EGR, ACV.

ok i'm another dumb one.. so when you block these off, do you leave them blocked off? or do you just block them off when you remove something and then take it off and replace that something.. i guess i'm confused as to what exactly you're doing when you block that stuff off

you block them off to remove the component from the car permanently.

It depends on what you are blocking off, when you remove your ACV because you've added headers or removed your air pump (or both) you will need to install a block off plate to take it's place. It's simply a requirement otherwise you will have a big *** intake leak, and exhaust leak, on the side of the lower intake manifold. If your EGR is malfunctioning, or you want to remove it for a potential HP increase (debatable) or just want to preserve it for when you do have to smog the car, a block off plate will need to take it's place... once again, to prevent from having an exhaust leak on the top of the engine. With the metering oil pump block-off plate you would use it when you eliminate the metering oil pump, why one would want to remove it varies... in my case I'm switching to pre-mix because I don't want to inject oil from the sump and motor oil just causes carbon deposits anyways. Pre-mixing 2 stroke oil will lubricate better and burn cleaner. Blocking things off with blockoff plates is just a consequence of removing some sort of accessory, usually emissions related. Wether it results in an HP increase or not depends on what accessory you were eliminating when you needed to use the blockoff plate.
