Are we talking about an M2..? For $600?! Where?

 

No i was thinking more like PFS, but I have seen the M2 mediums sell for about $700 in rx7club for sale area.

 

yes i am considering a SMIC but figured since a lot of time will be at the 1/4 an FMIC would be better, no? i may have the FMIC vs SMIC threads backwards in my head. It also depends on if a FMIC fits behind the stock front bumper, cause as i told dave on AIM i wont be modding the exterior.

If you want something easy to install get the Blitz, I have the Blitz fmic and I installed it in about 5 hours by myself. The hardware it comes with is very nice, and the intercooler is huge! The biggest plus for me was that I didn't have to remove the front bumper at all, the only thing you have to cut is the stock sway bar mounting brackets to use the new ones they provide. In the end it sits a little further back in the bumper opening than the Greddy intercoolers do, which was also a plus for me because I was able to retain my stock foglamps.. and it also prevents damage from road debris on the freeway by sitting further back. The Greddy kits are very nice too, just trying to pass on my experience with the Blitz.

there are 2 types of the greddy 2 row. there is a v-spec, and then there is the r-spec. the r spec is better, and has more flow capability and cooling area. the 3 row is not too much bigger, but cools better. it would NOT be difficult to FAB a single 'y' shaped pipe that drew into one air filter......i think that i might try that....

 

do you think the r-spec 2-row would be suitable for 20psi on stage 3 rebuilt turbos?

20 psi on those little turbos? How long do you expect them to last at that psi?

 

i think that the good 2 row would be fine, but i am still not convinced on how long they will last, but in now way does this questoin the work that brian does....

only single, you would definately have to buy seperate piping. probably the reason there's no 3 row for twins is because the 3 row is made to be efficient at 15+ psi, which few people run on twins, so it wouldn't be economical for them to make one for twins.

 

brian assured me the stage 3 twins are designed to run efficiently at 20 psi with the PFC maps he can provide me with, I don't question his quality at all. If anything maybe i'll tune it down to 18psi for normal driving, but i still want an intercooler with the ability to handle 20psi.
