Yes, as in check that it's connect to the intake manifold.

right now my car has no map sensor and doesn't smoke that bad, it idles at about 1,200 but sounds like ****. i dont think a map sensor would cause that drastic of a problem but who knows from car to car

This may be the different scenario. But with AFM equipped cars if the bov spring tension gets set too loose it will leak - and cause problems like this. In my case it was stalling.



If your bov is adjustable tighten up the spring preload. If it isn't it may be something to diagnose whether it the blowoff valve may be leaking.

Once my the vacuum line that connects to the bottom of the map sensor popped off on me and I was like wtf, my car was smoking and it barely keeped an idle. So I just started tracing lines and found that one disconnected.
