Well after a short flight their and a long drive home the car is finally here. I took alot of tools with me but I didnt use any of them. The only thing that broke on the trip home was a fuse went out to the over head lights. As for the car....The interior sucks, the stereo was blown out, and some of the door panels are coming off. Mechanically the car is rock solid for the most part. I spent my day tuning her up and I will finish tomorrow. Their are just a few things I need to take care of.

1. When I start the car it takes a while for it to catch. It cranks, canks, cranks....starts. Checked the battery it is good so I am guessing it is the starter. Any ideas on brand or if it even is the starter?

2. It idles rough. Is this do to the street port? Also the exhaust sounds wierd. It doesn't purr really.

3. Interior needs work. I am going to have the exterior all replaced with black vinal. It is good stuff and looks just like real leather. They quoted me a price of $950 for everything that is tanned to go black. This good?

4. The dash pieces are peeling bad. So I am going to have them all coated with some material. Haven't decided on the final details but it is going to be clean

5. The car is on jack stands right now and I will take pictures tomorrow when it is finished.

I dont mean to jump to conclusions. But hard to start and a rough

idle is a sign of an unhealthy engine, right?. Whats the vacum at idle? I suggest getting a compression check done. How many miles is on the engine? What kinda mods? What did you pay for it? Post the pics, and good luck with the car!

I think it is just the exhaust. The engine is new, maybe a year old. It idles at the same rpm as my last one. It just sounds rough. The only mod is exhaust and a streetport. Everything was done by pettit. The exhaust looks cheap though and I am wondering if it is just that.

Here is an old picture. It is a 1993 Touring. Street ported engine with 3mm apex seals. Custom Gunmetal metallic. Still trying to find out the color code.

great color!!

the lumpy idle cna be due to the SP, if big enough, and the lack of an air pump, or specific emission controls....

I really like the color! And yes it would look better with black interior.

I think you might have hit the nail on the head. From what the past owner told me he says it wont pass emissions. What can I do to fix this? I really want to replace the exhaust. Bad......!
