So umm...I was gonna convert my rx7 into a 5spd. Auto tranny sucks ***** and I don't feel like fixing it (Why fix something you hate?). So I'm converting it. I can get the tranny, driveshaft, rearend, gauges, shifter, pedals, but people I've been talking to about it say I need the wiring. What wiring are they talking about? like all the wiring? or just some?

Someone help me. Tell me what wiring is needed. Oh yea..and if there is a website or anyone knows the exact procedure for it...that'd be one hell of a helper.

P.S. I got a aftermarket comp.

I am doing the conversion myself. It is really not that expensive, if you do the work yourself. It is just a matter of finded good prices on used parts. Try to find someone that is parting out a car. Then make an offer for evrything at once. Good luck and i should be able to answer more questions once i complete it. I am a little busy with the engine and turbos rebuild.

you do need a manual ecu, but as far as the wiring harness, it can be done without the manual wiring harness, it's just not recommended (by other people, i personally don't care). you lose things like the 1-2switch and the idler connector, but all you really need is the speedo connector, and that's the same on the AT and MT. i've found that if you have it set up like this you'll need to keep something always on (i.e. the a/c, or the driving lights) something to pull extra energy or it seems to idle a tad funny. the best way is to find some connectors and splice them into the AT Wiring harness, it's cheaper and easier that replacing the whole wiring harness....just be careful when you do this.
