i don't have any personal experience, but from what I hear dealing with a modded auto is just a big pain. Manual is the ONLY way to go in the 7 unless you are a girl and can't shift

unfortunately auto fd's are not mod friendly. the trannies can't take that much abuse and its hard to find ecu upgrades that are compatible.......

Yeah but it's still an FD3S, and if you love an rx7 than you would love both the auto and manual

supposedly a stock rx7 auto 3rd gen is faster that a stock manual 3rd gen. but only slightly, since theres less boost loss when shifting.

well thats what ive heard.

Have the Automatic transission in my car. The fastest dragsters in the world use Automatic transmissions...Top Fuel. Not that this transmission is anywhere near what they use.

( And I don't think Big Daddy Don Garlits is a Girl)

It is true the car keeps the revs up between shifts since you normally wouldn't lift off the pedal with the Automatic.

If you can find a truly decent tranmission shop where the people there know how to work on transmissions and don't just try to see how much money they can seperate you from you can get some good information on the transmission.

I am holding a shift kit by Transgo in my hand right now getting ready to install it in the valve body now. This shift kit supposedly will tighten up the laggy shifts I am having and correct some lube problems in the transmission.

there is a group of Automatic owners on the following site. I got it from someone in this forum
