does the mazda dealer have these? i know rx-7.com has thermostats, but i don't know what temp they are.

Also , it's pretty stupid to buy it from rx-7.com because the shipping to hawaii would cost double what the product does. some say you can use miata thermostats. is this true. any info on thermostats would be helpful. esp part#'s

thanks

I have a stant 180 degree that I bought from a local auto parts place. They should be readily availible. On a side note, the mazda OEM thermostat looks like it is of a much better build quality than the stant. The stant seems to be working OK though

Hawaii7 the oem Mazda thermostat opens at 180degrees. You can buy it at any dealer or m2 or rx7.com etc etc etc. I would stick with the oem it's the best in terms of quality, and a lower temp. thermostat won't let the FD get fully up to running temp. People with the pettit unit have reported many problems with it.

Stock ones have that "jiggle pin" and seam to work the best. I've heard of people having problems with the generic brand ones. And yes stock is 180 degrees.
