Alright---I've searched both forums and can't seem to find a consensus on what to do about the precontrol gate when converting to full non-sequential:

Cut it out or weld it shut?

Dude look in the thread that is pinned above. I addressed that.

You should cut it out completely. like so...

Nope---not the turbo control. I already figured I could hack that out. I'm talking about the precontrol gate that is part of the the turbine housing.

Your right and I am confused it. anyway then you still missed it.

I instructed to wire it back.

The only other option is to weld it open.

I've heard of people cutting it out. When I did mine, I just welded it open. Just don't weld it open all the way, or it won't fit back together.

What made you decide to weld it shut? It seems like most people cut it out or wire it open. To me it seems like the exhaust path to the secondary turbine is more direct when it's closed---which I would think is good. But is this actually better, or is it worse because there is only one path that's not as free flowing than with the precontrol open? Would having it open or closed affect the exhaust flow to the point where the primary spools a bit faster than the secondary? Does any of this even matter?

Either way, I think I'll love the non-seq. setup (boost with a tiny bit of lag is certainly better than no boost or sometimes boost ), but with as much work as I'm putting back into this car I just want to do it right the first time.

I guess the same thing you are thinking...why leak boost from primary to secondary???
