Thumbs down

I havent seen many topics about the 3'rd gen trannys ever. And since mine is blown i thought this might be a good time to learn about em. Who makes after market ones? how much power can the stock on hold? 5'th gear synco probs? Where's the best place to buy new or used ones?

FD tranny is pretty beefy. Just as long as you don't mis-shift (3rd/5th) you'll have no problems. I know quite a few people(in person and on this board) that have used the FD tranny to the 500+ rwhp range and still running strong.

Guru makes a 5 speed dogmission for the FD, but they're the only company I know of(off hand)that does make one.

Just buy a used one. Or have yours rebuilt. Those are the only cost effective solutions
