I'm having a problem somewhere in my A/C system. It's not the A/C I care about, it's the fans. When I turn the A/C on, it shoots air but it's warm/hot. The only thing is, it sounds like my compressor isn't coming on because there isn't a noticeable change in idle when I turn on the A/C. Not to mention my car gets VERY hot compared to what it did when the fans were coming on.

Is there possibly a relay or something that isn't working? Any help would be appreciated.

theres a switch that doesnt turn the compressor on if it runs low on refrigerant.

say more about this.

I had a small leak in the low pressure fill needle.changed . Recharged. Air and comp would work for a while then just stop.No reason that I know. i just changed the relay( in the straight fuse box under the hood its a 207 fuse) (in case someone ask) nothing. It seems to work for 5 minutes and acts like as soon as the system has cycled a couple times or pressures up or heats up ...whatever, it then stop working I get hot air. anyone know where the thermostat is for the A/C? This is pissing me off in hot humid Louisiana !

Mine WAS doing that. My A/C would finally click on after a little while of toggeling the switch, and 5 minutes later it would go off again. Now I can't even get the A/C to come on period, and my car is getting much warmer than it should be... Glad I have 3mm apex seals.

Mine stopped doin' all that - I'm just hot.

l8tapex wants to know if there's a common leakage or failure point to lose the freon. He was told it might possibly be the expansion valve.

Update....well a simple look in the site glass told me I'm low again.

I've filled it several times. My A/C buddy has a $400 sniffer that I will try see wear I have a leak in the system. I am afraid the heater core and expansion valve is our weak point. If so I was told you cant just buy those components . I don't believe that but I sure ain't buying a used one. When I find something out I will post it.

Apparently there is a lot of us with the same problem.
