hmmm well i am sorry for the update but what can i say i am a lazy bitch. anyways, i pulled the a/c controls and everything looks fine. there seems to be now problem with the connections or anything. i am going to just assume that the selector **** could be bad...so my current plan is to get the hvac panel from my fiends car and try it out. there is only one flaw in my plan and that is the fact that his ac is fubar also. so hopefully that will fix my problem. does anybody know of a way to test the temp select ****?
thanks

it's not the a/c compressor, or the heater core. It sounds like a problem with the control panel. If the temp selection **** is faulty, one or more of the actuator controlled vent doors may be stuck.

okay well sorry for the late update. i pulled all the relays in the car that the manual said to test....i believe that that they are all in working order. so here is what i am thinking, i think that the stock refrigerent pressure switch by the drivers headlight is either faulty or i dont have any pressure in my a/c system. the book says that if the pressure gets below a certain point it will stop the magnetic clutch from engaging so that it doesnt damage the compressor. so my new question is....if i hook up my voltmeter/ohm meter thingybob and it reads that i have no continuity....does someones car with a working ac have the same reading or does say that you have continuity. if i have no pressure in my system then i guess my car had a major leak overnight or it was just getting slowly worse and i didnt notice it because it was getting colder outside and i basically stopped using it fora couple of months....either way this would seem to me that my a/c has a leak somewhere!!!
