hey everybody...

i just purchased a set of 99 JDM turbos for my 95 FD for $3500.

yes i know i got swindled...actually i didn't know that the dude who worked on my car installed it in my car until i saw the receipt of my engine rebuild. and now i see them around for anywhere from $1800-2500.

but anyway, can anyone please give me some insight on these turbos because i know NOTHING about them. are they stronger and produce more power than the stock turbos? advantages/disadvantages etc etc. anything will help..thanks again

i have them also. they're awsome. they produce about 25 more hp than the 93-95 ones. advantage: more power. disadvantage: still can't beat a good single turbo. if you tuned your car properly, you could get in the neighborhood of 350 to the rear wheels. have fun and hold on!

you need a good ecu, larger injectors, dp, mp, cat back, ic would be good, and about 15psi

there are 2 types of JDM turbos.... one's the RZ and the other's the RS (i think)

One of them makes 265hp, and 280 for the other.

The 280 ones have a plastic ring that keeps clearance tight for the blades, which is what I've read to be the main/only diff

+ a better fuel pump. also, a ported motor wouldn't hurt. it would also be smart to go non-sequential at these boost levels.

I have street porting, but I'm still confused as to what the actual benfefits of porting your engine does. Someone told me that it doesn't really do much unless your car is super modified. Is this true?

And why would it be better to go non-seq? Can you explain the benefits between parallel and non-sequential?

Thanks for all your help...right on rxtacy

They did spool a bit faster.
