Having my fd mapped in the near future and was thinking of putting 850cc primaries instead of uprating the secondaries.

How involved is doing this and is it worth it.

Its pretty easy to put the stock secondary 850's into the stock primary rail. You need to shave off about 2-3mm from the top of the rail so the shorter 850's can seal...

Your city gas mileage is gonna suck with those 850's. And its a total pain to get a nice smooth idle with them too.

that depends on your EMS. Something like a haltec or even better a tecIIIr can control them with enough power to smooth out your idle. I plan on running 1600 primarys in a few months.
