Hi, I'm in the market for a 3rd gen but I can't seem to find any place that has a definite layout of the trim levels by year and their differences. Can some of you guys please help me out here? I don't want to accidentally get a second-best 7 just because I thought "Touring" meant "better" :P

all the cars have standard ac,power windows, power steering,abs, etc

Base- Cloth seats standard, tape stereo NON BOSE, optional cruise control, optional leather

Touring- sunroof, leather seats, bose wave stereo, cruise control, optional r1 wing

R1,R2 - suede seats, bilstein shocks,stiffer springs, passenger side second oil cooler, r1 lip spoiler, r1 rear wing, r1 strut bar, optional none

depends what options you want if you want the most track worthy get the R1,R2. if you want a cruiser get the touring as it has all the options

There are no R1/R2s with sunroofs? Also, what is the difference between R1 and R2?

93 = R1

94-95 = R2

R1 & R2 are just different years. R2's are rarer and have been slightly updated compared to the R1's

R stands for race model so NO SUNROOF!

Gotcha. Thanks very much for the info, now I just have to wait until one becomes available that's even within 500 miles (Southern Indiana)

Thanks for your advice, I put down a deposit today on a '93 touring, 55k one owner FL car, and I absolutely can't wait to pick it up.
