Might be stupid question, but i was wondering why some of these 3rd gens have different emblems stuck to them? There's the all-time favorite bird, and then there's the male/female symbol, and i think two more...? I'm just curious.

Up Until 1992 Mazda Did Not Identify Themselves With Any Sort Of Symbol. The Only Visual Logo That They Used Was This One Shown Above. It Was A Simple Display Of The Mazda Name In A Self-Designed Font. http://www.mx-3.com/emblem/emb-92a.jpg In 1992 Mazda Introduced A New Emblem Which Would Be Used For The Export Market. It Is Supposed To Represent A Sun And A Flame Standing For Heartfelt Passion. http://www.mx-3.com/emblem/emb-92-96a.jpg Shortly After Implementation Mazda Had To Alter The Logo Slightly By Rounding Off The Diamond Inside The Ellipse, Because The Previous Emblem Was Somewhat Similar To Renault’s Corporate Logo (In France). http://www.mx-3.com/emblem/emb-97a.jpg In 1997, Mazda Redesigned The Symbol Once Again. The New Version Shows Off A "V" In The Centre Of An "M". According To Mazda, It Represents Creativity, Flexibility, And Vitality. http://www.rx7.com/store/rx7/images/...dges_small.jpg Then the Efini badge. (this was all copied and pasted from another site, so I apologize if any info is incorrect) |
I heard that it was supposed to be a symbol of a bird flying away from sun?? Reprsenting the Sun as the exhaust and the bird as the vehicle...LOL https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png Actually it was just the bird flying away part. |
I've also heard it's just a "Flying M." I don't care, I just know I like it better than the old emblem/logo.
|
This one is my fave out of the bunch. Notice the bug guts under the top left side
|
|
that does remind me or renault though. The flying M means FORD lol

I know this is off topic, but did you know that the mitsubishi emblem is the family crest? Here's a link to prove that I'm not crazy. http://www.bdt.co.nz/mitsubishi/about.asp
|
Also look at the volvo emblem. It is the sex symbol for the male. Or female, I don't remember. OFF TOPIC I KNOW!

Mazda is a Sumerian God i think that stood for many different things:
Such as.. The Sun, The Flame, and Birds were supposed to be its messengers... you can look it up... thats how come the different symbols. |
