if not he will ask where can he get another new engine and a ecu https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683785.gif
While we're on this... Was I right by saying that he won't be able to control the boost effectively with out a ported wastegate? Or is there a boost controller capable of doing this?
he will not be able to. it will spike alot and run 12-15. even with ported wastegate you can't really get boost under 12psi........... boost controller will only go as low as the wastegate allows. the stock twins wastegate is so small even when ported !
so the only way to avoid this is to either slap in a hi-flo cat, or get an ecu + proper fuel uprgrades?

Slapping on a high flow cat will help with the boost issue. It will allow him to keep the boost at 10 psi because of the restriction that a catalytic converter creates.

boost controller will allow him to control boost to a point, then boost creep will occur. Porting the wastegate will help, but may still cause him to overboost in the higher gears(due to airflow/load).

Getting an ECU/Fuel upgrades will prevent detonation, because it will allow him to boost 13/14 psi AND be relatively safe...more air with more FUEL and your a/f ratio's will go down.

ey s sorry it took so long for me to reply i had to work.. :( ok so if i get a hi-flow cat i ill be good.. in like a month or so i was planning on the ecu/fuel. but till thei was making sure i would be safe.. but i think im going to get the stock one he has with lower miles and a brand new motor. but the apexi n1 exhaust will be on it cause i already have it.. but will have a boost gauge/and air/fuel gauge when i get it.. thanx for the info...

Take the pills out and save that poor motor PLEASE............. Get a damn ECu already. Why must you not listen to guys who have been thru a few motors. You do not want to learn the hard way do you?
