Ok, Well today i was out car hunting with my cousind. He just sold his 1991 Mazda 323 and is looking to get a newer, and better car. I sugested a Turbo II but he will not budge. He wants to get a 1992 Nissan 240SX twin cam 5 speed. So anyway, we go and have a look at this 240sx, it was by far the best we have seen so far but the guy is askig to much.

HE says to me "Why dont you buy it?"

I reply "Im looking for a 3rd gen RX7"

He says o ya "We have a guy who just traded one in on an SUV"

ME "What year "

Him" 2001 RX7 Type R, white"

Me "WHAT?"

Anyway, i went off. Now is this possible in Vancouver Canada? Is it possible that we have a real 2001 Type R on North Americam soil? I have never heard of such a thing. He said it would be there tomarrow so im going to go and see if this guy is shitting me or not.

Possible....... Absolutely, probable, doubt it.. That's the kind of thing that won't allow you to sleep well at night!! Even if it's a trade-in (I work at a car dealership), the tag should be pretty steep on something like that, so be prepared. A lot of demand plus not enough supply equals one hell of a hole in your wallet!! Try to get some pics if it's a genuine 01!!

I highly doubt it's a 2001 FD, comon, Canada won't allow US legal Skylines onto their soil.

Yeah, whatever you do, don't go into this with your hopes up. Don't want to sour anything for ya, it just sounds too good to be true. But hey if it is there than WOW!! Do what you have to do man!!

Yeah right!! If he wants it, and it turns out to be the real deal, and lets consider he can afford it, I think he will be too busy living the high life to worry about what you said!

Oh that's not the reason he'll be angry with me, I'll buy that car and have it in Chicago before he could say Cat in the Hat LOL. He better not post here that it's real unless he already bought it.

There is no possible way it was one unless it was brought over to be a trailor queen! We are the same here as in the states for the FD. Hell we even have to do more to the car if you want to bring a 93-95 U.S car over. Driving lights and Canadian standerd front bumper must be done to it. So like i said it would have to be a show car or something of that nature. And if for some unknown fantasy it is true....ill be eating my words also LOL

Very good advice. Hey you know the second you started this topic, a damn flood of RX-7 enthusiasts started headed north into Canada! You better get that thing as fast as you can, and hide it!!

Im thinking that its a hoe-x. The guy said 2001 Type R white with red interior. So im deffinetly down to investigate this one. He also said he would let it go for 24k CDN. And around here most 3rd gens go for 20k anyway. So ill have to wait and see. Hope it is real but i dought it.
