I have a great running 93 R1 and I paid $11,800 with 96,000mi. So I would say subtract about $4000 off that price and offer the guy $6800. Just to let you know I got my car at a steal of a deal.

11,800 minus 4,000 = 7,800.

I agree with the guys here. 8,000 is not bad, but you're gonna have to turn around and put quit a bit of money back into it. Then there's the down time while it's being fixed. Are you mechanically inclined? Do you have a good friend who's mechanically inclined? Do you have a place you can work on the car? Do you have time to work on the car?



It could be fun if you're into that sort of thing. And you would have a 'new motor'.



I'd low ball him at like 6,500 and maybe meet at 7,000. But then I'm frugal.
