I'm debating if i should buy a 1993 R1. It has 108xxx miles on the chassis. The body is in pretty good shape. There are a few little dings but not very noticeable and the interior is like an 8 out of 10. The only problem is that the engine has low compression and floods when it isn't started for a couple days but it does runs, however. What would you guys pay for it? The guy is asking 8k.

R1 are a name only plus a bigger oil pan and second oil cooler. the market for it might be 9000-13000 but just get a base save 3000 and put that 3000 on the engine rebuild. and you'll wip up on R1 and vipers, vettes, and supras. 108K will make it harder resale for a big price.

Is 8 grand a good price though for a car like that, though?

offer the guy like 6500. or have it taken for a compression check at the local mazda dealer. that is the only thing that those guys are good for, and they suk at that.

if it has bad compression, nad he won't come off of the price, use the 100~ tha thte check will cost you, and tell him to take that off of the $. 'cause bro, 8K is not bad at all, and a reman can be had for ~$2400, you do the math....
