"a" has matchin ports on the lim and uim... gasket as well

"b" is the one in question.. has matchin ports on the lim and uim but NOT the gasket..

the other port towards the front makes sense as both the gasket and lim doesnt flowthrough serving as the dead end...

ah, but the hole on the intermediate housing had a passage through the gasket?

er, nm you just posted an answer before i finished :P

thats strange, but the ones on the end housings and the intermediate all serve the same function to the best of my knowledge, as for why the gasket has no holes in the end ones, I have no answer for you, sure is peculiar though. But it does not surprise me. If you look at other 13B's theres so many ports on the engine that get simply blocked by the manifolds, like the two holes under the exhaust ports, they are all covered but one by the gasket if i remember correctly? yet the holes are all present in the housings.

look at the coolant ports in the rotor housings, both housings have the holes, but the t2 only uses one on the LIM, the other is plugged... so i'm not surprised, but it is strange....

the portion of the gasket for the intermediate broke off in pieces..

just couldnt puzzle it back together for the pic..

but yes...it does provide for complete flowthrough...ports on both the lim and uim..

and the gasket..the one in question is "b"

the manual shows opening on the gasket for "b" .....rear side housing

the manual shows no opening on the gasket for the port on the front side housing..

which makes sense as it doesnt continue to the lim...but theres continuation for the rear side housing port to the lim... "b"

as far as the ports below the exhaust..yep there are two on the housings...

but only one on the gasket...gasket serving as the cap..

not even..

complete blockage..

its particle..

if you notice..other portions of the gasket with particles gives the same illusion..

had some free time this am

ran the compressor and used a blowgun to the ports in question..

found "b" to flow through egr valve as mike had indicated..

found "a" to flow through the acv...

current suspicion points to the notion that a non-cali (egr-less) gasket was used..

if there are gaskets specific to egr and non-egr..

goin to look at how these ports ties in to the block next..

need to dedicate time to the tii next.. speedometer issues
