Great pics. Thanks a lot Dragon. Now, I only have one question. Is this going to wear out the Relay faster or maybe cause some problems, like draining my battery when the car is off? I know stupid questions, but i just need to make sure https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png

It won't wear out the relay faster or make the pump stay on with the car off. You may see your gas mileage go down however.

That's ok, I'm used to that. I do drive an FD https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683785.gif

AgentSpeed 01-02-2004 02:56 PM

It'd be hard for mine to go any lower too! Good info Thanks!

Dragon 01-03-2004 06:03 AM

gas milage won't go down if you retune the bottom end a little in the normal driving area's due to a little more fuel being present... It also makes tunning easier dut to there being a constant volume of fuel there that is linear vs suddenly having the fuel pump kick from 6v to 12v and having a sudden change in the volume of fuel present in the fuel rail.. I kind of think that the change over has a little to do with the injector change over problems people have as well because they both happen around the same time..

Dragon 01-03-2004 06:04 AM

also, you don't need to worry about the relay wearing out because you've effectivly made it not a relay anymore.. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png

would this fix a problem relating to why no fuel is being sent to my motor so that it will start? No fuel going to my motor is the reason why mine won't start, and that's the only reason. Could it be this?

wickedrx7 04-25-2004 09:26 PM

Great wriet up, I am about to install a single walbro and was going to run 12v via a seperate relay, but this looks a lot easier.

Thanks

rfreeman27 04-25-2004 09:42 PM

Wiring up relays isnt hard either.

follow that...

If it's not getting fuel now at startup, and running it at 12V fixes it.. I'd imagine your pump is letting go. I wouldn't recommend using this as a method to aid a failing pump, however it could help you determine if your pump is failing..

Sinful7 05-24-2004 02:13 PM

I have been noticing some rather intrusive whine from my Walbro.. Is this common?

IGY 05-24-2004 06:14 PM

Mine whine all the time. If the pitch has changed and sounds different than what it ussually does, you may have a clogged fuel filter, or the filter in the tank on the pump may have crap in it.

Priceless info guys https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683894.gif

I'll plan a dual Walbro setup once I officially get my FD. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/bigok.gif

Dramon_Killer 02-09-2005 03:51 AM

How do I wire my fuel pump up for constant 12v?

Right now I just have it wired up through my haltech.

ambassador_josh 02-09-2005 09:24 PM

when I picked a fuel pump, Rotary performance says they recommend against walbro pumps, they said they crap out b4 others so I ended up getting a denso 255lph, for what application, I do not know.

They say that becuase they want to sell you their denso supra TT pump with the part number removed...

treceb 12-12-2005 06:44 PM

just looked at my fuel pump relay and it didnt look like the one in the picture. i did however force the connection to make constant contact with a toothpick. is that OK?

FikseRxSeven 12-13-2005 09:58 AM

so are you geting more fuel pressure now?

treceb 12-13-2005 11:15 AM

umm, ill check later. i dunno if teh FPR is set for 40psi max or not.

umm, howd i check?

FikseRxSeven 12-13-2005 06:03 PM

check your fuel pressure... lol

the regulator is set with reguards to how much your fuel pump is pumping, if you are getting more flow now, your fuel pressure will go up from whatever is set on your regulator

treceb 12-16-2005 09:09 AM

i see a couple more pounds at idle on the gauge.

jspecracer7 01-11-2006 07:12 AM

somebody needs to retune then...

treceb 01-11-2006 07:40 AM

lol. mos def. it was running super duper rich.

signofinfinity 03-12-2006 05:48 AM

awsome thread!!!! thanks for the help... installing dual walbro shortly...with the lines as dragon suggested!

sdminus 03-12-2006 04:52 PM

will running a single pump at full voltage cause it to fail prematurely.
