ok so I was driving my car last night and I was gunning my car and all off a sudden my car was idling at 4 thousand and climbing. Then when I got home It stoped, now I get in my car right now and it starts doing it again. It's like driving itself and I think it could be the throttle cable is stuck I dont know. What could it be?

well, you could go check the throttle cable, thats pretty easy. I'd just pull the throttle petal up with your foot under it. First find out if thats it.

After you've checked out your throttle cable, inspect the throttle body. Make sure the butterflies aren't sticking, and everything is operating smoothly.

my throttle used to get stick at WOT and thatgets scary when your going like 110+, what ended up happening was the spring broke on a part of the TB, before that i used to just soak the **** out of it in wd40 becuase it would stick, the spring was all gunked up.

I think the only thing that could cause it to idle that high out of the blue would have to be stuck throttle plates.

I dont know because theres like 2 throttle cables right? Well thats what I saw was 2 I think , anyways ones real loose and when I bend the butterflies back like I mean bend hard back the idle goes back to 1000 or below and goes normal. I mean It will idle all the way to 5 or 6 thousand now.

blip the throttle really really hard and the spray the crap out of it with wd40 and pump the gas pedal and keep doing this, it fixed mine, i did it on the side of the road after it happened in traffic, i stomped down on the clutch and it just pegged itself off the rev limter shooting flames until i shut it off and coasted into a gas station.
