had my S5 GTU for about a year and a half. So at a stop sign i decided to test out my car since i did the TB mod.. and right when i let the clutch... bam! the car studdered and the car now runs really gay and weak! it still starts up fine and idles fine... feels like the car is struggling when i rev it! I can still peel but the car feels like it has no power... do anyone of you know whats wrong with my car?

When the clutch first starts to wear out, it will start slipping in the higher gears before you notice it in first gear.

THanks for your reply... but i know for sure it aint the clutch. I pulled the leading spark plug wire on the front rotor but the car didnt changed. After pulling the second leading wire the car studdered and died. So i'm guessing that its the front rotor thats messed....? anyone

I don't know for sure so im not going to say "yes" that is it

How many miles are on the engine?Did you do a compression test?

Or... does the car still have the cats?

If so mine did the same thing when the car finally clogged. Get it heat tested and be sure, my car was actually hard to get past 3k.

One of the plugs might be carbon fouled. Pull all the plugs and clean or replace them. You might also have pulled a hose or wire loose when you launched. Just give everything a good going over.

hmmm.. i'll get to getting a compression test on it when i have some free time because i'm totally swamped with work and all. At the top of my head the car has at least 170xxxx miles on it. Gutted cats and newly replaced wires and plugs. But i'll check anyways... thanks guys for your help!

The "quickie" compression check.

Floor the throttle to cut fuel.

Crank the starter.

Listen carefully to the gear noise surges caused by the compression pulses.

They should all be exactly the same.

RrRrRrRrRrRr - all surges exactly even (normal)

RrRrRrrrRrrrR - uneven compression surges - 2 of each 6 are low (bad apex seal)

RrrrRrrrRrrrRrrr - alternating strong & weak gear noise surges (one rotor has lower compression than the other.)

Great! Knowing this the front rotor sounds like this.... RrrRrrrRrrrRrrRrrrRrrrRrr... so... guess imma see if anyone wants to buy the car as is... anybody? hahahaha

Pull the big engine fuses.

Pull the leading plugs.

Put your finger over the (sparkplug) hole while your boyfriend cranks it over. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683380.gif You're looking for strong, even pulses.

Sure sounds like you knackered an apex seal or two.

Where in the USA are you kaoliu for peeps thinking of taking you up on your offer of a sale.

Cheers
