These were just stuffed up under my dash, not screwed or bolted or even zip-tied in. The black box has a small white ****, that goes from "hi" to "lo." The small silver thing was wedged beside the dash, pointed toward the windshield. The blue box unplugs. The wires head down around the left side of the fuse box. I have yet to remove the side cover and look more, as it was dark.

My car did have an alarm, but I couldn't figure it out, so I had someone disable it. Could this be part of it? What can I remove? Any other ideas?

I don't know, I don't think my chime ever works. At least not for the driver's side door. And I never have a passenger. I'll check it out today, if I get no other leads.

thats alarm ****, 99% sure.

the **** is just to adjust the sensitivity of a sensor...blue little box looks like the brain of the alarm...

little silver thing might be a glass sensor for the alarm, you know, if glass shatters, the alarm will go off...

then again i could be totally wrong, but i dont think so...

I think I agree with YuCA on this. Looks like alarm crap never removed.

Did the 87's have a chime? I have had mine since it came off the assembly line (bought it new with only 3 miles on it) and I don't remember ever having a chime in my car.

Ok, when I get a chance I'll follow the wires, and see about removing them. I don't think I'll feel comfortable just cutting the crap off.

dude deffinately not stock....it has to be the alarm that was on it previously like you said....and if you want to fix you mangled wiring harness just go to a junkyard and pull an unmolested one to retain your stock harness look
