ok, i searched but came up w/ nothing today i finally got to work on my 88 se. I just got the engine bay painted the other day and now that is dry i wanted to start puttin all my remade harnesses in the car and get every thing setup to drop the motor in, but came to a problem when trying to connect the the na body harness (main) to the turbo engine harness (alternator). Everything plugged in fine except for two connectors where the harnesses meet each other. i know most people use the na engine (alt.) harness but mine was mangled and hacked beyond use and my turbo harness was just redone. Is there any way i can splice the harnesses together or will i have to use the na harness? b/c im not trying to put the main turbo harness in the car. thanx

I believe that's for cruise control and wiper motor. At least that's what I remember when I reworked my OEM harness plug to still function the alternator and wipers, while having an independent harness for my megasquirt.

Do you have the OEM manual? The electronics schematics are really well done. If you take a small slot screwdriver and carefully finesse the lock tabs on the wire going into the plug, you can pop out a wire and relocate it. It snaps back into another location no problem.

And if you've got a spare harness around, you can pop individual wires out of the harness plugs, and put the leads into the harness plug you are using, and now you have a flying lead that you can solder up and put where you want.

The manuals will tell you which spot on the plug goes to where, so just go off that and you can do just about anything you want.

I'd copy an image for ya but I can't find my CD with the manuals on it.

are u sure? b/c cruise and wipers are conneceted throught the passanger side emission harness. im talking about the the plugs on the driverside just under the trailing coil. where the main harness meets the alternator harness. 2 connectors on each harness are mismatched and they should go together. the connectors are differnt on the na main harness from the tii main harness but every thting else hooks up. what should i do get a na harness? will i still be abled to hook up the knock monitor?

fsm only shows the turbo harness so i found the connectors im talking about on the engine harness and states the connector simply attach the 2 harnesses together but i cant find a diagram for the non turbo main harness so how do i find out how to make these work?

Oh my bad, I thought you meant the P/S harness.

Theres one wire to the alternator from the P/S harness, and the start/charge harness is all on the D/S.

What is it that you can't connect? I'm not talking about which connector won't go together, which component won't connect?

idk what component it goes to all wiring diagrams dont tell u it just says it connects engine harness to main harness. the connectors on the turbo engine(alt) match up fine to the turbo main harness but the connectectors dont plug in to the n/a main harness but every thing else plugs in fine is it possibly those connectors are for knock and somthing else the na doesnt have, but what would the two connetors on the na main harnes go to. should i just use a na engine(alt) harness and be done with it? is it even possible to use a turbo engine(alt) harness in an na?
