High rpm is where the power gain might be felt, you may have lost some low end, not that there was any to begin with, lol If they were working right to begin with, you probably didnt feel a difference anyhow

dumarjo 07-08-2002 07:26 PM

no the actuator didn't work. that why I wiring it open .. but I see the lost of power on the low end but not sure to see the difference at high... should i do somthing other than pull this open.. ???

You will see a loss in the low end, havent done it personally, but if it wasnt working to begin with you should see a difference in the upper rpm range, so did you see any difference??

dumarjo 07-08-2002 07:31 PM

no ... that's why i'm a bit confused...

I'm not sure if do the right thing.. do you know a place who explain this ???

horn4858 07-08-2002 07:37 PM

above 5000 rpms it makes a diff

Powerpack 07-08-2002 07:41 PM

What's telling you that they were not opening before? They only open while driving under enough load. If you noticed a low end difference after wiring them, you sure wired them right. And it probably means they were working at high RPM.

dumarjo 07-08-2002 07:44 PM

i'm sure they not work because the vaccum line was broken.

horn4858 07-08-2002 07:45 PM

yea they were prob working since he noticed low end loss but no diff at higher spds.

Then if you floored the pedal you should have seen a difference over 4500 RPM.

horn4858 07-08-2002 07:47 PM

works off pressure 1.5 lbs to open.

dumarjo 07-08-2002 07:47 PM

where to get info's on that mod ??

dumarjo 07-08-2002 07:57 PM

thanx for that info.... I will try to find the difference but i think this is a very small difference...

In my opinion, wiring the aux. ports is a temporary mods. The best mod is to make them work properly by any manner (vacuum, pressure, electrical) but they got to open and close at the proper time. We need that low end torque while driving in town and cruising.

Unless you get a 20B.

horn4858 07-08-2002 08:14 PM

you know i been thinking about having cable operated-off throttle sorta like manual secondaries on a holly carb. something to think about.

That's actually a good idea, but you'll probably need a pretty strong cable to pull them open.

horn4858 07-08-2002 08:24 PM

it w take some time and little money. it would be all manual at your foot. w have to play with opening position and have springs on sleeve levers to pull them back per position of throttle. motorcycles have a y cable. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...>/rolleyes.gif

horn4858 07-08-2002 08:25 PM

there easy to open without actuator

horn4858 07-08-2002 08:29 PM

we got a spare lower intake. ah well just an idea. my bedtime anyway. have a nice evening. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...R#>/mellow.png

Ok, I thought you were going to have he cable pull on the actuator.

dumarjo 07-10-2002 06:43 AM

yeah guy I do a particular attention at 5000 rpm and yes I felt the difference.. for now I don't have time to make the actuator work automatic but this winter (yes in quebec we have snow) I will repaire it. I saw the difference to the low rpm, I lost some performance.

it's always great to see the fast answer you can done...
