I need some help. I blew the tranny in my 89 GTU and i have the chance to buy a tranny off an 87 base. And i was wondering if it will fit. I know the gears are slightly different but i just need something that will run for know until i save up for a turbo drivetrain swap.

Yes! The tranny will fit. Right now i'm running an s4 TII tranny in my s5 TII.
