I just finished a race with firebird and exited the freeway, stopped at the light to make a left turn, engine dies. It started right back, but why did it die? It never has done that before and hasnt done it since. Anyone have this problem?

My car used to do this back in the day when i would beat on it for a while, just like gone in 60 seconds, and Eleanor... Have no clue why...

If it is a fuel pump ground, can I add one to correct the problem?

Hmm i would first check for vacuum leaks. All that excitment might of check off a connection and the heat would expand it. Youknow what i mean.

Once in a while a TII would do that after a hard run but once it cooled down it was fine, so it could be the ecu programming and the silly air temp sensors that suck. Once i went haltech i never had problems.

If is going lean cause of the temperature rise youcan adjust the mixture screw and make it a little more rich at idle.

could be so many things...

your under hood temps go up when you beat on it, the heat could cause some sensor to misbehave or wiring to go funky.

it's an old car so theres many things that can start to freak out in such a situation.

Did you stop suddenly and made a left turn?

From 100 to 0 in less than 1/4 mile, then made the left turn, I will have to get under the hood today and see if I can find anything off or cracked.

Sounds familar. I have only encounter that problem when i installed a light weight flywheel. Lost of inertia help the engine die quickly when suddleny letting of the gas and hitting the breaks. I kind of fixed the problem by adjusting the dash pod a litle bit and increasnig the mixture a littlebit. Do you ahve a light weight flywheel?

No, everything is stock at this point. I have had the engine and tranny checked out, I was told everything is in good working order. I trust the shop because they didnt charge me anything.
