https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub..._DIR#>/dry.png My car is burning oil....
|
I had the exhaust rigged so i could somewhat breath in my garage.
|
spark plugs are clean
|
bummer, looks like it might be time for a turbo, or time to inspect it at least.
make sure the oil return line isnt plugged or anythign too (for the turbo) though since you're premixing note that it will be smokey when running rich, like premix smoke, not typical running rich black smoke... but you seem to have visible oil leaking from the exhaust, and said you have seen an oil drop from the dip stick, not cool man. |
There is oil leaking from the backplate of the turbo, My car was low by a quart also. But that could have been from my oil cooler being empty when i put it into the car.. When i hooked up my stock oil pressure guage, its through the roof, like 130psi. The turbo is also smoking/steaming, i opened up the return line on the turbo and oil was coming out... I am running premix, but there seams to be way too much smoke, I just emptied the gas tank, and now it has 2 oz of premix with the 2 gallons of 92octane..
|
my car smokes alot right now if i rev it. It may just be tuning.
the throttle pump values on mine are too high, if i start revving the throttle pump kicks in and it turns into rich madness, and i fill the neighborhood with smoke. I shut down, start back up, and it idles smoke free, i can slowly turn up the rpm with my hand, gently enough not to kick in the throttle pump, and it doesnt smoke. Go to options the throttle pump, check out those values. I know you got maps from a friend with a similar setup, but maybe you are running higher fuel pressure than he was. You have to realize theres oil in your gas now https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/wink.png |
I'd say your pressure at 130psi is part of the problem...
|
crankcase is vented to the atmosphere...

I cannot get the damn idle down, and once i revved to 4k and it stayed there.... Throttle position at idle and that time was 4%...
|
2 oz of premix to 2 gallons of gas seems a bit excessive.
|
you need like 2-4 oz for an entire tank!
show me a pic of how your crank case is vented. you need to cap the breather on the filler neck and leave the breather on the middle housing open |

show me a pic of how your crank case is vented. you need to cap the breather on the filler neck and leave the breather on the middle housing open anyhow, I left the charcoal canister on my car so I still have the nipple on the intermediate housing going to that. On the filler I put a tiny k&n filter on so it can vent to atmosphere... |
on my TII if you cap both it will smoke alot. if you vent both it might cause it too.........

Isn't it suppose to be like a 1oz/1 gallon premix?
how long have you let it idle so far? |
damn guys don't me get me all excited..... I could have swore that it was 1oz per gallon.... **** if thats what it was I would shoot myself..
|
I am going to yank the turbo tommorrow....screw the bs
|
that amount of smoke and the color is definately oil, I would suspect that you lost the rear seal on the turbo, looks exactly like my GT-R at the moment, car runs fine, covers the neighborhood in smoke though, and look out if you decide to hit boost, you will look like James Bond trying to get away from somebody.

The turbo on my T2 does this also. It looks like I hit the smoke screen button from Spy Hunter... Newer, bigger turbo on the way though! https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683329.gif |

I lucked out, it appears to be just the turbo. The turbo exhaust mani was clean...I am going to strap on some n/a exhaust to be sure tho..
|
well the smoke from in the first pic is from the oil burning that he pumped in the engine when it was sitting so it wouldn't get messed up.
|
I thought your turbo was new?How could it be dead already?
|
HAHAHAHHAHA too much premix! Damn i was scared for a good minute...
|
1 oz to 1 gallon, you would make the Exxon Valdez jealous.
|
good, now get back to tuning slacker
|
1oz per gallon i don't think is that terribly bad, it's just running rich, tune it.
rich + premix = smokey. |
Yes I have to do some tuning, looks mean https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png You should have seen the look on peope's faces when they drove by as i was coming out of the alley, ******* priceless https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/bigok.gif

******* a, this **** just don't stop. I think my engine is bad.... Now that my idle is lower(1400rpms), it won't smoke. But then I punch it and smoke blows out like crazy, and the coolant buzzer comes on. There doesn't seem to be an oil being used, I checked the dipstick after letting it idle for 20minutes and it was the same. And the oil pressure is down to near 50, **** is strange... And then i goto try and ******* datalog, and it only does it for 26secs....? https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683561.gif Eitherway I am pretty sure this **** is toast, now I am fucked and I'm starting to get pist. Good thing I have a job interview tommorrow. If i do tear into it, its getting a crazy port job, I am considering bridge.

maybe you just didnt burp the coolant system, there are alot of variables at play since you did so much work, don't jump to conclusions https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/wink.png |

check the overflow tank to see if it's getting a constant stream of bubbles (exhaust).

I think the smoking(oil) may have something do to with my oil pressure, cuz now at my 1440 idle, the oil pressure is at 50ish. And now it doesn't smoke at idle. Before my idle was @ 2000 at it smoked like crazy and my oil pressure was at 130.... And now when i punch it it smokes, the oil pressure is probably going way up...

sucks to hear man, abnd about going bridge, dont even attempt it, finish this project then buy a fb and go bridge
