Who Knows About The 5 And 6 Ports

Here is a pic of my actuators. They are located on the side of the lower intake manifold. I had some engine paint leftover from doing the block so I cleaned the actuators up and painted them to match the engine. If you want to check to see if they are working you can reach down and push the rod on the actuator in by hand. You can also pop off the vacuum line that runs to them and spray some compressed air in them. It requires very little psi to get them to move so if you don't have a compressor one of those cans of compressed air should do the trick. I had been running with my sleeves removed until last month, when I bought some pineapple inserts and reinstalled everything. I haven't really driven it hard yet, do to a coolant hose leaking, but I think I like the responsiveness of the car with the sleeves in and working. So far after installing them I have noticed three things: 1) my car doesn't buck as much under 3 grand like before, 2.) the 3800 rpm hesitation is present, and 3.) My car is a bit quieter under 4 grand which is kinda nice.
