https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683561.gif I was talkin to an old geezer, (knows his drag racing tho) that told me that if I mount my fpr and fuel Y block on my fire wall, then I won't be aloud to race my car at a drag strip.



He said it is because if the clutch/flywheel explodes, then the shrapnel would tear through the fuel line causing fire as well.



What kind of ideas have you guys come up with to get around this??



I really don't have room on the drivers side wheel well, and I personally don't want the damn thing within 2 feet of my glowing hot turbo (seems that is kindof defeating the point)



Also I have some teflon for my fittings, I have heard to different things..

My fuel splitter and FPR is mounted on my shock tower. Pics soon.

I put mine on the passenger strut tower, but it's getting relocated to right on the secondary fuel rail. If at all possible it would be best to have it mounted on the engine somewhere, then the engine torqueing side to side won't have any possibility of turning loose the AN fittings on the FPR (or worse yet, tearing things apart if your hoses are not long enough to take up the slack)



even if the hoses are long enough initially, as the motor mounts wear you may not notice the movement increasing and that just sounds too risky to me.

I'm thinking about mounting the Y block on the intercooler brace (yes i still have tmic) or on the block itself where the egt is on s4's maybe, then mount the fpr onto the bac block off plate (lines will just wrap around uim). It's gonna get a little hot, but I really don't see where else it could be mounted with the tmic still in place.



I'm gonna do some more research.

this is an aftermarket one, I just turned my fuel system into frankenstein. No reseblance of stock

check this out, not usin the bac anymore, and I've got a couple ideas about how to run my fuel line, should turn out pretty neat.



I can't take credit for this bracket a buddy of mine & jims5443 is a mechanic that has a lot of tricks up his sleeve, made this for me. Only took a couple of minutes tho. (wish i had metal working equip)

I thought of that bac idea a while back, I was going to try it, but I didn't want any fuel near my turbo. As of right now my fpr is mounted on my driver side strut/shock tower. But I have an fd uim on the way, and I plan on mounting it where all the fd guys do, right above the secondary fuel rail, https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683894.gif .

That old guy is right about the placement of the fpr, actually has to be 6inches from the firewall.

About the fittings, you need non-tapered O ring style fittings for the fuel rails/fpr. And tappered fittings for all the others, unless you Y splitter has a flat female receiving ends. Just show me a pic of the Y splitter and I can tell you if you which fittings you need.

you'd be suprised by the progress I'm making, I have all my fuel lines run except for 3, y block mounted, hard line adapted, fuel filter mounted, I'd like to get everything in place how it's going to be before I start wireing the wolf



1revvin7, I'm actually 1 step ahead of you, I ordered the -6 an fittings that one side is not tapered, and -6 orings and already have them in the fpr, I'm using ReTed's diagram for the fuel, but I want to get all the lines run b4 I post pics, it's gonna be a killer setup.



The heat was my main concern about that location as well, but since I'm using a hybrid I was able to keep my stock turbo heat sheilds, and I also have my dp wrapped very well, so I should be safe there, just need to keep my lines as far away as possible
