i'll give you guys getting jspecs the same tip i gave turborotor that prevented him from installing a blown jspec into his car. all you have to do is pull the plugs and spin the flywheel or front eshaft bolt. you should hear loud even whooshes. if you get whooosh.............whooosh........ that means one rotor is gone. that is how i determined for sure my TII engine was dead https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png

you mean having no apex seals makes it easier to spin ? :P |
Do what Vosko says, I did. It is a great way to tell if you have an apex seal amiss. I took out the plugs in the front housing and had my mom bump the car over with the FI fuse removed. You could hear each seal go by: swoosh, swoosh, swoosh etc. Then I put the plugs back in and took out the ones in the rear housing. It sounded completely different with only one definite swoosh since one toasted apex seal caused loss of compression on two of the rotor facings. I started tearing apart the engine after that. I think you should take that refund money and put it towards rebuild materials. This way you can port the motor or do whatever and get a good look at internals that might need to be replaced. Sucks you haven't driven your car for 4 or 5 months though, I can't waite to see the SEX machine tearing it up!

Yea, I wasn't trying to dis FC3S.org...I'm just saying, be careful. When I got the motor, it was pretty easy to turn over w/ the flywheel, and I sensed something wasnt right, but Dave said that the protectant they put in the motors can sometimes stick and it'll take some ATF to free it up. I mean, he was right, I had no compression on either rotor when I first installed it, but w/ ATF...the front rotor freed up and has great compression now...but the rear rotor is a bitch!!!! Oh well, I was only using the Jspec for a quick fix, I was planning on porting the thing anyways.....
